What is CML?

Chronic myeloid leukemia, also known as CML, is a type of blood cancer that begins in the bone marrow. Caused by a random chromosome mutation, this change takes place in immature myeloid cells. This change forms into an abnormal gene called BCR-ABL that releases into the blood and creates the onset of CML symptoms. CML is the slowest progressing form of leukemia and the form of leukemia that the CML Buster Foundation focuses on.
